  • ¾ cup (4oz) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons (1oz) butter (plus more for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop potatoes; weigh them for accuracy. Steam or boil in a large pot until tender (20-25 minutes).
  2. Drain potatoes in a sieve for about 5 minutes to dry. Then mash them until fluffy using a ricer or masher.
  3. Mix in flour, salt, pepper, and melted butter until the dough forms a ball.
  4. On a floured surface, flatten the dough into an 8-inch round disc and cut it into six pieces.
  5. In a frying pan over medium heat, melt butter and cook each farl for 5 minutes until golden brown; flip and cook another 4-5 minutes.
