  • 2 tsp dried active yeast
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tbsp softened salted butter
  • 1.5 tbsp milk (for brushing)
  • Additional butter (for brushing after baking)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix lukewarm milk with yeast and a pinch of sugar; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, condensed milk, and butter.
  3. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and stir until a scraggy dough forms; cover and rest for 15–20 minutes.
  4. Knead the dough on low speed for 3-4 minutes then increase to medium-high for 10–12 minutes until smooth yet slightly sticky.
  5. Transfer to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 60 minutes until doubled.
  6. Line a baking pan with parchment paper; punch down risen dough and divide into equal pieces (around 76g each).
  7. Shape into balls and place on the prepared pan; cover and let proof for another 30–45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F); brush rolls with milk before baking for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush baked rolls with melted butter before serving.
