300 g penne pasta
6 tbsp pesto sauce
2 cups heavy cream (35%)
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red onion, diced
1/2 cup reserved pasta water
1 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour
Garlic powder
Dried oregano
Salt
Black pepper
Fresh parsley and grated Parmesan for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Boil water in a large pot; add salt and cook penne pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
In the same pot, sauté diced green bell pepper and red onion over medium heat until soft (3–5 minutes).
Stir in pesto sauce and reserved pasta water. Gradually add heavy cream while stirring continuously.
Sprinkle in flour, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper; mix until the sauce thickens slightly.
Add cooked penne back into the pot; ensure all pasta is well coated with the creamy sauce.
Garnish with parsley and Parmesan if desired. Serve hot.
