  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (warmed)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (177C) and line an 11 by 5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Slice apples thinly using a mandoline or knife.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until thickened and pale.
  4. Mix in warmed milk, melted butter, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Add flour, salt, baking powder, and optional cinnamon; stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in sliced apples until evenly coated.
  7. Layer apple slices in the prepared loaf pan and pour remaining batter over them.
  8. Optionally sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
  9. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
