Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat)
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, parsley, mint, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 20 meatballs (about 1 to 1.5 inches each).
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  4. For tzatziki: In another bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (excess water squeezed out), minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper until well combined. Chill before serving.
  5. Serve meatballs hot with chilled tzatziki sauce.
