  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box Butter Pecan cake mix
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks), softened
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Butter Pecan cake mix (reserving 2/3 cup), softened butter, brown sugar, 2 eggs, and water. Mix until smooth.
  3. Fold in the chopped pecans and pour into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. While baking, prepare the topping by mixing the remaining butter, eggs, sugar, corn syrup, milk, and reserved cake mix.
  6. Pour the topping over the baked base and return to the oven for an additional 30 to 35 minutes until slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
