A soft, flavorful sweet potato cake for dogs made with wholesome ingredients. Grain-free option included. Perfect for birthdays or pet celebrations.

1 cup mashed sweet potato (cooked and cooled)

2 eggs

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana

2 tbsp xylitol-free peanut butter

1/2 cup oat flour (or coconut flour)

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (for frosting)

1 tbsp peanut butter or banana (for frosting)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 6-inch cake pan.
  • 2. Mix sweet potato, eggs, applesauce, and peanut butter in a bowl.
  • 3. Stir in flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
  • 4. Pour batter into the cake pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes.
  • 5. Let cool completely before frosting.
  • 6. Mix yogurt and peanut butter (or banana) for frosting.
  • 7. Spread frosting on cooled cake. Decorate if desired.
  • 8. Store leftovers in fridge up to 5 days or freeze up to 2 months.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are xylitol-free and dog-safe.

Use coconut flour for a grain-free option but adjust quantities.

You can frost with mashed banana if dairy-sensitive.
