  • 1 ¼ cups warm milk (105-110°F)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 ½ – 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and sugar, then sprinkling yeast on top. Allow it to foam for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine the yeast mixture, butter, egg, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth.
  3. Gradually add more flour until you have a soft dough. Beat on medium-high for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (45-60 minutes).
  5. Roll out and cut the dough into pieces; let rise again on baking sheets until almost doubled.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
